Artist Biography
David Daniels studied Graphic Design at BA and MA at Canterbury and the Central School of Art. He has spent many years designing and animating, directing award winning TV commercials for the likes of Honda, Nike and broadcast graphics for the BBC, Channel 4 and VH-1 television. His love of music (he can’t play) has led to the creation of numerous abstract music films that have been shown at numerous Film Festivals most notably a retrospective evening of his work at The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Spain's national museum of 20th-century art. This in turn has led to designing visual content for live performances by Led Zeppelin, Roger Waters and Bryan Adams.
Now based in Somerset alongside the animation he is also creating drawings and prints based on a designers perspective of landscape, whether in Somerset/Wiltshire, his birthplace Norfolk or recent trips to Norway. From sketchbook drawings through to finished prints, which will be enhanced with the opening of a printmaking studio with an old college friend at the start of 2019.
